Penn supports discounts for public transportation use by faculty, students, and staff
Penn's compact urban campus is well served by an extensive network of subway, bus, regional rail, and trolley lines that are located around the campus where public transit stops are never more than a five-minute walk from any part of campus.
Penn offers several options for discounted travel via SEPTA, PATCO, NJ Transit, and Amtrak. Full-time benefits-eligible faculty and staff can receive discounted commuter passes, which are paid for through pre-tax payroll deductions in amounts up to $270/month. Any monthly commuter transit orders that exceed $270/month will be considered a post-tax deduction. All of Penn's Commuter Options are managed by Health Equity/WageWorks Commuter Services.
Note: The commuter products supported by Penn and managed by Health Equity/WageWorks may differ from the retail transit fare programs offered by the participating transportation agencies such as SEPTA and NJ Transit.
