Description

ArcGIS is a geographic information system that makes it easy to create maps and utilize powerful tools to access records from existing databases to visualize, question, analyze, and interpret data to understand relationships, patterns, and trends. 

ArcGIS Desktop Advanced provides the tools and environment for map creation and interactive visualization, multi-user editing, advanced data management capabilities, advanced analysis, high-end cartography, and extensive database management.

Penn's Esri Educational Site license includes ArcGIS Advanced, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, and access to Training modules.

ArcGIS Advanced includes these extensions: 3D Analyst, Data Reviewer, Aviation: Airports, Aviation: Charting, Maritime: Charting, Maritime: Bathymetry, Schematics, Data Interoperability, Business Analyst Standard, Defense Mapping, Production Mapping, Roads and Highways, Geostatistical Analyst, Network Analyst, Publisher, Spatial Analyst, Tracking Analyst, VBA, Workflow Manager.

ArcGIS Pro includes these extensions: 3D Analyst, Data Interoperability, Data Reviewer, Geostatistical Analyst, Network Analyst, Spatial Analyst, Workflow Manager.

Eligibility and Terms

Licensed to:

Faculty and staff of the University of Pennsylvania for use on University-owned systems for academic purposes.

Students receive a free one-year license as part of any class using ArcGIS.

Distribution:

OSL will add your name to the Esri site as a User, and you will create an Esri login to download the licensed software. OSL provides you with a provisioning file that you save to your local machine that allows the software to run until July 18th.  

Students will receive a one-year license that contains ArcView and the Spatial Analyst, 3D Analyst, Geostatistical Analyst, and Network Analyst extensions. More information about the student license can be found here.

Usage:

Stand-alone or concurrent.  

"1.5 Educational Programs. Customer agrees to use Esri Offerings provided under an educational program solely for educational purposes during the educational use Term. Customer shall not use Products for any Administrative Use unless Customer has acquired an Administrative Use license. "Administrative Use" means administrative activities that are not directly related to instruction or education, such as asset mapping, facilities management, demographic analysis, routing, campus safety, and accessibility analysis. Customer shall not use Products for revenue-generating or for-profit purposes."

Additional Information:

Students using ArcView in a Penn class will receive a one-year copy of ArcView with ArcGIS Spatial Analyst, Geostatistical Analyst, Network Analyst and 3D Analyst extension. A professor may request student copies at the Student License Request page or by contacting the Office of Software Licensing.
