History of Sustainability

Penn’s commitment to sustainable practices dates as far back to the 1980’s, with the appearance of a recycling truck at Spring Fling. That was only the beginning, as Penn’s efforts have increased exponentially over the years. The Penn Sustainability is at the helm of developing initiatives for a more sustainable campus, but many centers, student groups and other sustainability programs have also been developed to address this need.
