Green Partners

Procurement Services works in collaboration with partners across the campus and the country to aid in the continuous improvement of Penn's sustainability impact.  Partners include:

Penn Sustainability - (Formerly the Green Campus Partnership)  is the umbrella organization that was formed to address environmental sustainability planning and policy development at the University of Pennsylvania and to coordinate programs and initiatives for a more sustainable campus.

Green  IT - a resource to assist with "greening" computing operations by reducing energy consumption and producing less e-waste.

Green Labs - created by the Green Campus Partnership in collaboration with Environmental Health and Radiation Safety to provide overall guidelines for lab greening.

Sustainable Purchasing Leadership Council - a non-profit organization whose mission is to support and recognize purchasing leadership that accelerates the transition to a prosperous and sustainable future. The Council’s programs and community of practice will help institutional purchasers to:

  • prioritize opportunities to influence the social, environmental and economic life cycle impacts of purchased goods and services,
  • identify existing leadership standards and approaches that address these priorities,
  • benchmark progress toward goals, and
  • receive recognition for advancement.

AASHE - AASHE is helping to create a brighter future of opportunity for all by advancing sustainability in higher education. By creating a diverse community engaged in sharing ideas and promising practices, AASHE provides administrators, faculty, staff and students, as well as the business that serve them, with: thought leadership and essential knowledge resources; outstanding opportunities for professional development; and a unique framework for demonstrating the value and competitive edge created by sustainability initiatives.
