Oversight of the Penn Marketplace Enhancements Project is provided by a Steering Committee comprised of School and Center representation from across campus. There are three Executive Sponsors of the initiative who are also members of the Steering Committee:
- John Horn; Comptroller,
- Tom Murphy; VP of IT & University CIO, and
- Marie Witt; Vice President, Division of Business Services.
The responsibilities of the Executive Sponsors are as follows:
- Validate and align the project vision with its objectives.
- Guide and approve the Steering Committee’s approach to ensure effectiveness and timeliness.
- Ultimately approve and changes in the project scope should they influence budgetary items.
The responsibilities of the Steering Committee as a whole include:
- Approve high-level process changes and scope.
- Approve the project charter.
- Validate a high-level program plan inclusive of the key milestones and activities.
- Ensure that School and Center process owners are actively participating in process design sessions and working groups.
- Obtain program commitment from School and Center leaders by cascading Penn Marketing Enhancements information and setting expectations for their respective organizations.
- Counsel team as to how to resolve issues or resistance within Schools and Centers.
- Evaluate and resolve issues escalated by the Program Management Office.
