National Collaborative Buying Initiatives

Educational & Institutional Cooperative Service (E&I)
Purchasing Services utilizes a strategic partnership with the Educational & Institutional Cooperative Service (E&I) to leverage competitively bid contracts for member colleges and universities. These opportunities include regional contracts negotiated for the mid-Atlantic region as well as nationally awarded contracts.

National IPA/Vizient (formerly Novation)
Purchasing Services is a member of National IPA/Vizient. National IPA/Vizient offers an extensive range of contracting services and enhanced cost savings programs. Through its affiliation with VHA and UHC, National IPA/Vizient serves the purchasing needs of nearly 2,500 members and affiliates. Purchasing Services conducts price competitiveness evaluations to determine which of the National IPA/Vizient contracts provide new cost savings opportunities for the institution.

Purchasing Services is a member of MediGroup an affiliate of MedAssets. MediGroup is a large national group purchasing organization (GPO) that combined with its affiliate MedAssets has the purchasing power of over 90,000 members. The MediGroup/MedAssets contract portfolio offers competitive contract pricing with over 2000 manufacturers and service vendors. With MedAssets recent acquisition of Broadlane, Purchasing Services now also has access to the Broadlane GPO contract portfolio. Combined these contract portfolios offer a comprehensive range of products and services for the healthcare market. MediGroup/MedAssets offers its members free competitive pricing analysis for the complete MediGroup/MedAssets/Broadlane contract portfolios.

U.S. Communities
Purchasing Services is a member of U.S. Communities. U.S. Communities assists local and state government agencies, school districts (K-12), higher education, and nonprofits in reducing the cost of purchased goods through pooling the purchasing power of public agencies nationwide.

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania COSTARS
As a tax exempt, not for profit educational institution, Purchasing Services is utilizing Commonwealth of Pennsylvania COSTARS Cooperative Purchasing Program contracts that are made available by the Pennsylvania Department of General Services (DGS).

Philadelphia Area Collegiate Cooperative (PACC)
Purchasing Services is a member of the Philadelphia Area Collegiate Cooperative, a Philadelphia based higher education group purchasing organization. This regional group purchasing organization leverages the combined buying power of local institutions to achieve mutually beneficial contracting opportunities.
