SHUTTLE SERVICES

East Shuttle—service to any destination: Schuylkill River to 20th, Market to South

  • Monday-Friday from 12:20 am to 3 am

  • Saturday & Sunday from 6 pm to 3 am


West Shuttle—service to any destination: 50th to 40th, Woodland to Market

  • Sunday-Saturday from 6 pm to 3 am


X Shuttle—service to any destination: Spring Garden to Market, 43rd to 31st,  & 30th St. Station

  • Sunday-Saturday from 6 pm to 3 am

  • Sunday-Saturday from 3 am to 7 am, limited on-call service is available


Early Morning Services1

A limited on-call service provides safe transportation from campus transit stops to off campus locations within the published Penn Transit Service Area from 3 am to 7 am. To request early morning services, call 215-898-RIDE or 8-RIDE from a campus phone during these hours. Waiting times may be longer.

1Services are not provided after 3 am for the following requests:

  • To/from 30th Street Station
  • From off campus to off campus locations (e.g., 46th & Pine to 48th & Chester)
  • From on campus to on campus locations (e.g., The Quad to Hill House)

PENN BUS SERVICES

Penn Bus East—evening bus service operating on a fixed schedule along established routes to Center City

  • Monday-Friday from 5 pm until 12 midnight:  View schedule

Penn Bus West—evening bus service operating on a fixed schedule along established routes to West Philadelphia  

  • Monday-Friday from 5 pm until 12 midnight:  View schedule

TRAVELING FROM ON-CAMPUS

via Penn Shuttle Services—may not be used to go between campus destinations

  1. You need to make your way to the nearest campus transit stop: View list or map

  2. You may use a walking escort to get to the transit stop by calling 898-WALK

via Penn Bus West or Penn Bus East

  1. Check Penn Transit's schedules and list of Transit Stops and Pickup Points to find out when and where you can ride the Penn Bus.

TRAVELING FROM OFF-CAMPUS

Via Penn Shuttle Services

  1. Please call 898-RIDE to arrange for a shuttle to pick you up
  2. Wait until the shuttle arrives before leaving your indoor waiting location
  3. Need to go to another shuttle service area?
  • You must transfer at a campus transit stop to the shuttle serving your destination

  • For example, if you are in the West Shuttle area but your final destination is 24th and Chestnut (which is in the East Shuttle area) please call for the WEST Shuttle to take you any campus transit stop

  • After you arrive at the stop, please wait for the EAST Shuttle to pick you up and take you to your final destination

Via Penn Bus West

  1. Board at any intersection with a stop sign or traffic signal along its route in West Philadelphia. Check out our map to see where Penn Bus West runs.

Via Penn Bus East

  1. Board at any intersection with a stop sign or traffic signal along its route in Center City,  or the Left Bank entrance on Walnut Street. Check out our map to see where Penn Bus East runs.

X SHUTTLE

  1. To access the X Shuttle you must call 898-Ride. The X shuttle does not make regular scheduled pick ups on campus. Ride requests can be made for pick up from any campus transit stop or from any location in the off-campus service area

GROUP SHUTTLE SERVICES

  1. Penn Shuttle vehicles can hold up to 14 passengers

  2. For groups larger than 14 passengers, please alert the dispatcher to the number

  3. Shuttles will be dispatched to accommodate the group as soon as possible
