8 am - 2 pm: TBD

New Student Move In: August 22, 2018:

6 am – 7 am: Unloading will be curb side and self-service.

8 am – 8 pm: Unloading to carts will be done by Move In staff in order to keep traffic moving.

What to Expect:

During assisted hours, English House and Kings Court residents will unload on the south side of Chestnut Street opposite the Sheraton Hotel.

Move-In staff will bring carts to a cart check area in the KCEH courtyard, residents will be given a cart check to pick up the cart to bring to their rooms in either Kings Court or English House.

Parking regulations will be suspended from 8 am – 8 pm on August 22 on these blocks adjacent to the house:

  • Chestnut St, south side, from mid-block to 36th St
  • East side of 36th St from Chestnut to Sansom Street
  • North side of Sansom from mid-block – 36th Street

Drivers must stay with their car, once unloaded they must move to remote lots where they will be able to park for the remainder of the day at no cost. Directions to remote lots will be posted on the RHS website in late July.

Who will help:

August 21, 8 am – 2 pm

August 22, 8 am – 8 pm

Move In staff will bring carts to the vehicles of residents moving in, assist in unloading carts and will “cart check” them in the KCEH courtyard for pick up by the residents.

Staff will show new residents all locations for checking in, picking up temporary keys, and accessing guest passes.

Checking In, Temporary Keys, Guest Passes:

The new resident should be ready, with a photo id, to check in and pick up temporary room keys while the car is being unloaded.

Check-in and Key pick up will take place in the courtyard between King’s Court and English House, accessible from either the main entrance of Sansom St or the Move In entrance on Chestnut St.

Guest passes: The resident will be able to pick up guest IDs by presenting the photo ID of the guest, or the guest can pick the pass at any time, including after they’ve reached remote parking

Tips for making it work and to keep traffic moving:

To keep traffic moving and to maintain unloading operations, we ask drivers to stay with the car and move immediately to the remote parking locations when the car is empty.

Additional information:

King’s Court has two small elevators, one at each end of the building. Ramps are in place to accommodate the few landings that span the residential floors in KC.

English House has one elevator that reaches all floors.

Campus wide operations end on August 26, including parking access and complimentary lot parking.

For all other dates, residents should plan to park and pay at City of Philadelphia kiosk managed spaces and to be careful of parking restrictions and times.
