History of Sustainability

Penn’s commitment to sustainable practices dates as far back to the 1980’s, with the appearance of a recycling truck at Spring Fling. That was only the beginning, as Penn’s efforts have increased exponentially over the years. The Penn Green Campus Partnership is at the helm of developing initiatives for a more sustainable campus, but many centers, student groups and other sustainability programs have also been developed to address this need.
