  • Opening Fall 2021
  • Designed by Philadelphia based, internationally renowned Bohlin Cywinski Jackson Architects – the same architects who designed New College House
  • The 450-bed residence will house sophomores, juniors, and seniors
  • Built to accommodate the intellectual, cultural, and social activities that are the hallmark of Penn’s College Houses

Late Fall Semester 2018

Logistics and site preparation

This phase of the project provides safety benefits, which are required by Philadelphia City Code.  A wall will be constructed to partition the project from traffic. Anticipated noise level is moderate and might occur as pounding noise when setting fence posts

Spring Semester 2019

Foundation Walls

Piers

Waterproofing

This phase of the project creates the foundation of the building below grade. Anticipated noise level is moderate because of the drilling work to create the structural foundation of the building.

Summer 2019 through Fall Semester 2019

Superstructure

Fire Proofing

This phase of the project creates the structure of the building above grade. Anticipated noise level is moderate because of the work to create the steel structure of the building.

Spring Semester 2020

Superstructure

Exterior Wall Panels and Glazing

MEP Infrastructure

Framing

Drywall

This phase of the project adds on to the structure of the building above grade. Anticipated noise level is low to moderate because once the superstructure is completed, the work will focus on the interior of the building.

Summer 2020 through Fall 2020

Roofing

Finishes

This phase of the project creates the roof and addresses the finishes for the building. Anticipated noise level is low, with work being visible.

Spring 2021 through August 2021

Framing

Drywall

Finishes

Commissioning

This phase of the project is the last part! Anticipated noise level is low, with most of the work happening in the interior of the building.
