In-Room Summer Storage

Graduate student residents returning to their same room for 2017-18, but leaving for the summer, can leave their belongings in their room. No need to pack everything up and move it all back in! You will be charged a flat fee of $150 for this option. In-room summer storage for graduate students in Sansom East is for the months of July and August* only. Here are the conditions:

  • You must be living in a Single-1BR/shared bath, Single-1BR/LR/KIT apartment, or Grad Plus apartment. Students living in a Double-2BR/KIT apartment may participate if both residents are retaining their room for next year and vacating their room during the summer.
  • All valuables such as computers and electronics must be removed.
  • Belongings remaining in the room must be moved away from the walls and corners.
  • The refrigerator must be emptied; perishable foods must be removed from all spaces.
  • The room must be clean and orderly.
  • Residents are strongly encouraged to have rental insurance for their belongings.
  • Cleaning will not take place in the unit, but any scheduled maintenance will (examples include air filter replacement, pest management).
  • You must schedule an inspection with the Sr. Residential Services Manager that must occur near the date of move-out.
    • The latest move-out date in Sansom East is Friday, June 30.
  • Once you check out, you cannot have access to your apartment/room; the locks on the door will be changed to a special core for the summer.
  • Fall move-in is Saturday, August 26.
  • Early move-in begins Sunday, August 20 (additional daily rent will be charged). Any early arrivals approved prior to August 20 will incur an additional fee of $200 in order that the room lock can be changed ahead of the scheduled date.
  • If you cancel your room for the fall during the time your belongings are in storage, you will have one week to remove your belongings and you will be charged the appropriate cancellation fee. There will be no proration made for the storage fee.

Return the contract to Residential Services, located in Stouffer Commons at 3702 Spruce Street, by the last day of classes.
