|Faculty and Staff Permits and Fees 2016-17|
Effective July 1, 2016, the following FY17 rates apply to faculty and staff of the University and the University of Pennsylvania Health System (UPHS). These rate changes will be implemented with the July payroll schedule.
1 Rates are based on the permit holder’s payroll deduction.
University and HUP employees: Permit holders will be enrolled in the Penn Commuter Choice Program automatically, which offers you significant tax savings by deducting parking fees (up to $255 per month) on a pre-tax basis. Through Penn Commuter Choice, you do not pay federal, FICA or Medicare taxes on the deductible amount.
University Employees: University faculty and staff members may arrange to pay the total applicable fee in installments through payroll deduction. Once established, equal payroll deductions are taken once a month for monthly paid and four times per month for weekly paid. Payroll deductions are ongoing until the Parking Office receives notice from the permit holder to cancel the payroll deduction and/or a garage access card where the access card and a hangtag is returned to the Parking Office. Payroll deduction amounts will be adjusted automatically each July to reflect any changes in permit fees. Departments who wish to pay for individual parking through BEN Financials is not acceptable.
HUP Employees: You may arrange to pay the total applicable fee in installments through payroll deduction. Once established, deductions for HUP employee permit holders will be taken in twenty-four (24) bi-weekly installments from the first two pay periods of each month, beginning in July and ending in June.
NOTE: University and HUP employees who wish to pay their parking fees in full are required to visit the Parking Office to pay the full year via credit card. No other forms of tender will be accepted.
