The off-campus living experience entails so much more than simply locating appropriate housing and signing a lease. There are many resources and support services that exist both at Penn and in the city of Philadelphia to ensure that students become savvy renters and engaged members of the community. City agencies, such as the Fair Housing Commission, exist to promote information about tenants’ right and provide advocacy resources to tenants in crisis. SEPTA and Penn Transit Services offer comprehensive transportation options that members of the Penn community can take advantage of at a discounted or free rate. The University City District develops engagement opportunities for members of West Philadelphia to get involved in the community and create a strong sense of neighborhood pride.
These organizations are just a few of the resources to explore here in the Resources & Services section.
