Pret A Manger

The Wharton School is pleased to announce the opening of Pret A Manger on campus at the start of the academic year. Pret is a sandwich and coffee shop that creates fresh, handmade sandwiches, salads and wraps in-shop each day using natural, preservative-free, ethically sourced ingredients. Founded in London in 1986, Pret is now global, with the majority of its stores in the UK and US including New York, Boston, Chicago and DC.

Pret can now add Philadelphia to the list, offering their wide-ranging menu to the thousands of students, faculty, staff and guests flowing through the iconic Jon M Huntsman Hall in the heart of the University of Pennsylvania. There will be two locations: one on the main floor, and a smaller outpost on the second floor serving mostly graduate students who use the spot as a meeting area throughout the year. Bon Appétit Management Company, the University’s food service provider, is proud to be the first to introduce Pret A Manger on an American college campus.

“We are excited to be able to listen to our students, and offer the kind of healthy options they desire. In addition, Wharton has been at the forefront of moves to sustainability and Pret A Manger certainly fits with the values the School has subscribed to over the past decade,” said Harlan Sands, Chief Financial Officer at the Wharton School.

Menu items might include: Balsamic Chicken & Avocado Sandwich, Avocado & Roasted Corn Salsa Flatbread, Butternut Squash & Ricotta Mac & Cheese; Turkey, Ham & Wisconsin Cheddar Hot Baguette; Miso Sweet Potato Bahn Mi Baguette; Turmeric Tofu Balance Box; Falafel & Beet Hummus Power Pot; freshly baked croissants; chocolate brownies and warm chocolate chunk cookies (perfect with Pret’s organic coffee and teas). The café also accepts Dining Dollar$.
